I had to post this Dallas Cheap Hotels tip after reading an absolutely ridiculous piece of advice on another review site which I won’t mention.
The article said to “ride Dart and feel like a local”. First up, locals don’t ride Dart! That is an absolute truth with the following exceptions:

1. People who can’t afford a car ride Dart. I mean people who reeaaallly can’t afford a car ride Dart. These are people who are selling plasma to buy food.
2. People who commute downtown ride Dart to work. Parking downtown is annoying beause of all the one way streets. Riding the train cuts out a lot of traffic sign silliness. Oh, they usually drive to the train station in the same amount of time it would have taken to just drive downtown,
3. People ride Dart to special events where, again, parking gets insane. I took Dart to the State Fair of Texas last year. It not only cut through the parking, but we also skipped the horribly clogged and completely unplanned feeder roads to the State Fair. Well worth it. I would also consider Dart for going to see the Cowboys, Mavericks, Stars, or Rangers.
Outside of that, there’s very little reason to ride Dart. I, in the fits of a “save the planet, save time, sleep during my commute” moment, tried to ride the Dart train to work once. It took me AN HOUR AND A HALF. My normal commute was 25 minutes. I did that…once.
